13th Edition of the AZ-Automesse

For over a decade, the AZ-Automesse Uelzen has been a fixed date in the Uelzen event calendar. The 13th edition in 2026 confirms the format's establishment. The organiser is KTS Uelzen, the Municipal Tourism and Service Company, in collaboration with regional car dealerships and the Allgemeine Zeitung (AZ), which gives the event its name.

City Centre as Exhibition Hall

The special feature of the Uelzen car exhibition: it takes place not in an exhibition hall, but in the open city centre. Over 40 vehicle models will be displayed in the central squares and shopping streets. Visitors can thus simultaneously stroll through the city centre, visit cafés, shop in stores, and get information about current automobiles. This combination creates attention for both car dealerships and retail.

Over 40 Vehicle Models

The line-up of over 40 vehicles includes the model ranges of the participating regional car dealerships. Current models of all size classes – small cars, compact cars, sedans, SUVs, family cars, sports cars, vans – will be presented. An important focus is on electric vehicles: hybrids, fully electric passenger cars, and plug-in hybrids from various manufacturers showcase the advanced state of e-mobility.

SVO Stand and E-Mobility

SVO Stadtwerke Uelzen (municipal utility) will have its own stand focusing on e-mobility. Here, visitors can learn about Uelzen's charging infrastructure, ask questions about home charging stations, and receive advice on how e-mobility fits into their daily lives. SVO is one of the key players in the expansion of regional charging infrastructure.

Family Programme and Hands-on Activities

Beyond the vehicle exhibition, the car exhibition offers a family programme with hands-on activities. Children can often participate in a small traffic course with Bobby cars, practice traffic education, or win prizes in quiz activities.

City Festival Character

Beyond its purely automotive function, the AZ-Automesse has a city festival character. Gastronomy businesses, open shops, and the spring atmosphere of May 9th create a relaxed Saturday in the Uelzen city centre.
