Traditional Whitsun Festival of the Blasmusikverein Jettingen at Rathausplatz
The Blasmusikverein Jettingen organizes five major events every year — the so-called "Big Five" program — including the Pfingstfest. The association is one of the most active music associations in the Günzburg district and significantly shapes the community life in Jettingen-Scheppach with its performances and festivals.
The venue is the Rathausplatz in the Jettingen district — a central village square that is set up for the Pfingstfest with a festival tent, stage, and catering stands. Its location on the outskirts and the open layout of the square allow for a festival operation that feels both village-like and grand.
The festival runs throughout the entire Whitsun weekend, from Saturday to Whit Monday. Festival opening on Saturday at 2:00 PM. Over the three days, the musical program alternates between the BMV Jettingen's own band and guest associations from the Günzburg district and neighboring Swabia. Typical festival dishes — Brotzeiten, Bratwürste, Schäuferla, Steckerlfisch — are served from the festival tent kitchen.
Jettingen-Scheppach is a market town in the Günzburg district in Bavarian Swabia, located on the Mindel river between Ulm and Augsburg. The municipality consists of several districts — Jettingen and Scheppach are the largest. The town has around 7,000 inhabitants.
The dates May 23–25, 2026, are officially confirmed by the event calendar of the market town Jettingen-Scheppach. The organizer remains the Blasmusikverein Jettingen (BMV).
The exact stage and catering program will be published in the weeks leading up to Whitsun on the association's channels and the municipal website. Usual components of Bavarian Whitsun festivals in Swabia include: Beer tapping on Saturday, Frühschoppen on Sunday, festival tent program on Whit Monday, guest performances by friendly music associations.
