Festival on an Action Sports Site
The Mellowpark is located in Wuhlheide, nestled between Köpenick Forest and the Spree riverbank. Across 60,000 square meters, it features BMX tracks, skate pools, calisthenics stations, beach volleyball courts, a slackline facility, and several water playgrounds — all operated by the youth association all eins e.V. It is precisely at this location that the Mellow Jam takes place annually in June — a festival that combines the action sports spirit with a multi-day music and workshop program.
Three Days with a View of the Spree
Unlike the major open-airs of the Berlin summer (Magma, Lollapalooza, Tempelhof Sounds), Mellow Jam is deliberately small. The venue can accommodate a maximum of several thousand people, the lineup consists of local and selected international acts, supplemented by skate, yoga, and workshop offerings. The bar is open, camping is not standard, and the audience largely consists of insiders from the Wuhlheide skate community plus Berlin festival-goers who value authenticity.
- Where: Mellowpark, An der Wuhlheide 250-256, 12555 Berlin
- District: Treptow-Köpenick, district Köpenick
- Format: three days of music, workshops, sports, community
- Values: Freedom, diversity, inclusion
Köpenick as a Festival Location
With Wuhlheide, Müggelsee lake, Mellowpark, the Spree river, and several nature reserves, Köpenick represents Berlin's green southeast. While festivals like Lollapalooza Berlin take place in Olympiapark in Charlottenburg or Mellow Magma on a former brewery site in Schöneweide, Mellow Jam has a different setting: forest, water, skate park. The sound adapts accordingly — relaxed, experimental, eclectic.
