Ceramics market on the festival meadow at Heinrich-Heine-Ufer
The Pottery Market Brandenburg an der Havel is one of the most beautiful ceramics markets in Brandenburg — and that's not just because of the potters, but also because of the location: the festival meadow at Heinrich-Heine-Ufer between the Jahrtausendbrücke and Bauchschmerzenbrücke bridges, right on the Havel river with a view of the Dominsel (Cathedral Island). One of the most atmospheric market settings in Brandenburg, especially in the autumnal light of late October.
In 2026, the Pottery Market will take place on Saturday, October 31st, and Sunday, November 1st, 2026. Saturday opening hours: 10 AM–6 PM. Sunday: parallel to the city-wide shopping Sunday in the city center, starting at 1 PM. The patron is Antenne Brandenburg, the largest regional radio station.
Around 65 exhibitors set up their stalls on the festival meadow. The range extends from functional ceramics (dishes, bowls, jugs, vases) and decorative pieces (garden ceramics, sculptures, light objects) to unique art items (hand-thrown sculptures, signed collector's pieces). Potters come from Brandenburg, Berlin, Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and partly from Polish Pomerania. Those looking for an Advent gift or wanting to upgrade their kitchen will find pieces here beyond mass-produced goods.
What makes the Brandenburg Pottery Market special is its connection to the city center. Sunday, November 1st, is a city-wide shopping Sunday in the Brandenburg city center — shops open from 1 PM, cafes with outdoor seating, city music. Visitors on Sunday can ideally combine a visit to the Pottery Market with a stroll through the Old Town, New Town, and Dominsel.
The district-free city of Brandenburg an der Havel gave the state of Brandenburg its name — and with its three historic town centers (Altstadt, Neustadt, Dominsel) and its location on the Havel river, it is an underestimated travel destination between Berlin and Magdeburg. In autumn, when the linden trees along the Heinrich-Heine-Ufer glow red and yellow, the city is particularly beautiful. The RE1 train connects it hourly with Berlin in 50 minutes.
Train: RE1 from Berlin Hauptbahnhof to Brandenburg Hbf (approx. 50 min), then Tram 2/6 to Altstadt or approx. 15 min walk to Heinrich-Heine-Ufer. By car: A2 exit Brandenburg, parking available in the city center.
Free admission. Prices at the pottery stalls vary by item — cups and jugs from approx. €15, larger bowls €30–€80, unique pieces depending on the artist.
For the best selection: come early on Saturday, as the choice of unique items is greatest then. For the city flair: combine Sunday with the city-wide shopping Sunday in the city center and a walk across the Dominsel.
