WERFT Brandenburg — the new cultural location

The WERFT at Hauptstraße 77 has developed into a permanent venue for Brandenburg's cultural scene in recent years — a flexible event space that hosts concerts, readings, theater evenings, and private events. Brandenburg an der Havel itself, the "city of three rivers" on the water with almost 73,000 inhabitants, has noticeably sharpened its cultural profile in the 2020s: Slawendorf, Brandenburger Theater, Industriemuseum, and now its own comedy festival brand.

Comedy Frühling — three evenings, three voices

The premiere of the first edition on Friday, March 13, 2026, will feature Saskia Kästner and Dirk Rave with their comedy duo "Schwester Cordula" — a self-ironic Western parody with over-the-top characters and spot-on punchlines. The next day, Saturday, March 14, Johannes Flöck arrives with his current program "Schöner schonen" — a cabaret examination of the comfortable bourgeoisie, gentle self-optimization, and convenient indignation. A week later, Saturday, March 21, the festival concludes with Tatjana Meissner and André Kuntze and their musical-satirical program "Schmutzige Lieder" — chansons with bite, on the edge of the forbidden. Three evenings, three genres, three very different tones — deliberately broad as a festival mix.

A new festival brand — premiere in March 2026

Brandenburg's cultural scene has a new festival brand with Comedy Frühling. The WERFT is thus implementing a format that is successful in many medium-sized cities: concentrated cabaret program in a short period, each with a full-evening solo program or duet — not an open mic series, but professional stage cabaret. From 2026, Brandenburg comedy fans will no longer have to travel to Berlin or Potsdam to experience comedy stars live. The first dates are confirmed — advance ticket sales are available via event-theater.de.

The WERFT is easily accessible by city bus from Brandenburg Hauptbahnhof in just a few minutes. The events are an ideal alternative to the Berlin comedy hustle: shorter distance, more intimate venue, easily plannable dates.
