Summer city festival in the colourful UNESCO World Heritage city of Linz am Rhein with live music and gastronomy in the old town
Linz am Rhein is considered one of the most beautiful small towns on the Middle Rhine. The historic old town with its colourful half-timbered houses, the castle gate, Linz Castle, the market square with the town hall, and the Romanesque Minster of St. Martin is part of the UNESCO World Heritage 'Upper Middle Rhine Valley'. Its location on the right bank of the Rhine, opposite Remagen, makes Linz a popular day-trip destination for visitors from the entire Rhineland region.
The Stadtfest is a classic summer city festival that turns the historic old town into a continuous festival mile. Over three days, stalls, stages, gastronomy, and entertainment are spread across the market square, castle gate, Rhine promenade, and the central alleys. Clubs, cultural creators, restaurateurs, and vintners from Linz and the region shape the event.
Several stages will be operated simultaneously. The musical spectrum ranges from pop and rock to Schlager, acoustic, folk, and brass, to DJ sets in the evening. The gastronomy includes regional specialities from the Vorderpfalz and Westerwald regions: Bratwurst, Reibekuchen, Flammkuchen, Saumagen, pizza, crêpes, cocktails, wine, and beer. Vintners and restaurateurs from Linz complement the offerings.
Family activities, a children's programme, craft stalls, and small exhibitions round off the city festival. Those who wish to enjoy the World Heritage atmosphere of the Middle Rhine can combine the Stadtfest with a walk through the old town, a climb up to Linz Castle, or a boat trip.
