Annual farmers market in Bad Kreuznach with regional products and direct marketers
The Nahe Farmers Market in Bad Kreuznach brings together direct marketers from the entire Nahe region in the city center of the spa town once a year. Regional products – wine, cheese, sausage, honey, bread, fruit, vegetables, juices, liqueurs, jams, organic specialties – are brought directly from the producer to the end customer. The range is supplemented by arts and crafts, regional manufactured goods, and culinary stands.
The market takes place in September and uses the mild late summer weather for a relaxed open-air event in the Bad Kreuznach city center. Thousands of visitors from the city and the entire district use the day to get to know the diversity of Naheland agriculture, food crafts, and arts and crafts.
Direct marketing means that agricultural and craft producers sell their products directly to the consumer without intermediaries. The proceeds remain entirely with the producer, creating value in the region. The Nahe Farmers Market prominently showcases this concept in the cityscape for one day – farmers, beekeepers, cheesemakers, bakers, vintners, confectioners, and artisans meet their customers personally.
The Naheland is an agriculturally diverse region: viticulture on the slopes along the Nahe and its side valleys, fruit cultivation on scattered orchards, cultivation of vegetables and grains in the flatter land, and livestock farming in the Hunsrück and Soonwald. This diversity is reflected in the market: Riesling and Spätburgunder alongside apple juices from old varieties, farm cheese next to game sausage, honey from the Soonwald beekeeper next to organic vegetables, jams next to handmade pralines.
In addition to the pure sales stands, culinary stands offer hot meals on-site: Flammkuchen from a wood-fired oven, potato pancakes with apple sauce, bratwurst from the grill, game sausage, vegetarian options, crêpes, and desserts. Hot drinks, wine spritzer, juices, and coffee complete the offering. Seating is limited; many visitors eat standing up or move around freely.
The Bad Kreuznach city center with its historic squares – Kornmarkt, Fischerstraße, Mannheimer Straße – offers a charming backdrop for an open market. Cafés and restaurants complement the offerings, and many shops are open. The Nahe Farmers Market thus combines market activities with strolling through the spa town – an attractive program for a September Saturday.
The 2026 Nahe Farmers Market will take place on Saturday, September 19, in the Bad Kreuznach city center. Direct marketers from the entire Nahe region will present their products – wine, cheese, sausage, honey, bread, fruit, vegetables, juices – supplemented by arts and crafts and culinary stands. Free admission.
