Three days of festival mile around the historic Pfedelbach Castle
Pfedelbach is located in the southern Hohenlohe district, in the transition area between the Swabian-Franconian Forest and the vineyard landscape. Pfedelbach Castle, originally the residence of the Counts of Hohenlohe-Pfedelbach, still shapes the town center today with its long Renaissance facade and castle courtyard. It is precisely here – and in the adjacent streets – that the Pfedelbach Castle Festival takes place every year at the end of July.
The concept is clear: three stages, three days, a continuous program of live music and entertainment. The stages are distributed across different areas of the festival mile, so the festival never feels overcrowded and visitors can switch between styles – from cover bands and Schlager music to rock and funk, and DJ sets in the late hours. The exact band lineup for 2026 will be published on pfedelbach.de in the weeks before the festival.
The gourmet mile is the culinary calling card of the castle festival. Along the festival mile, there are stands with Hohenlohe wines (Trollinger, Lemberger, Schwarzriesling, Müller-Thurgau from the surrounding vineyards), homemade specialties from local clubs, international dishes, and creative cocktails. This mix – traditionally Hohenlohe and at the same time open to new things – characterizes the festival.
What makes the Pfedelbach Castle Festival special is the great volunteer commitment of the local clubs: music clubs, sports clubs, support clubs for the fire department, and church communities run stands, serve drinks, cook, and ensure the smooth running of the event. The proceeds flow back into club activities – a classic and still highly functional model for club life in rural Baden-Württemberg.
The festival attracts thousands of visitors every year from Öhringen, Bretzfeld, Waldenburg, Künzelsau, and the Heilbronn-Franken region. Anyone visiting Pfedelbach in the summer without experiencing the Castle Festival has missed a significant part of the Hohenlohe summer festival season.
In 2026, the town center around the castle will once again become a festival mile. Three stages will host the live program, and local clubs will be responsible for catering, drinks, and activities. The exact band program will be published on pfedelbach.de in the weeks before the festival.
