A festival mile nearly three kilometers long around the historic city ring
Pasewalk, the district town in Vorpommern-Greifswald, boasts an impressive landmark with its almost completely preserved medieval city wall. It is precisely this historic city ring that gives the Pasewalker Stadtringfest its name and backdrop: On a spring day, the nearly three-kilometer-long circular route around the old town transforms into a continuous festival mile. The festival is one of the town's younger events and has quickly become a crowd-puller since its first edition.
What makes the Stadtringfest special is that it is not a classic fairground event, but a large showcase of the town's community. Over 100 exhibitors – clubs, non-profit organizations, craft businesses, companies, and public institutions – set up their stalls along the city wall. They present their work, invite participation, and engage in conversations with visitors. Thus, the festival becomes a vibrant reflection of what Pasewalk represents today.
The Pasewalker Stadtringfest 2026 falls in a special year: Pasewalk celebrates its 775th anniversary in 2026. The town was first mentioned in a document in 1251. In the anniversary year, the Stadtringfest is part of a series of festive events and is considered by the city administration to be one of the most important program points of the anniversary year. The historic city ring as the venue underscores the long history of the Vorpommern municipality.
The Stadtringfest not only appeals to the residents of Pasewalk but also attracts visitors from the entire surrounding area of the Vorpommern-Greifswald district. Anyone who walks the entire festival mile covers nearly three kilometers – and experiences a cross-section of the town's club, economic, and cultural life.
The third Pasewalker Stadtringfest on April 25, 2026, is entirely dedicated to the city's anniversary: Pasewalk celebrates its 775th anniversary in 2026. Over 100 exhibitors set up their stalls along the nearly three-kilometer-long festival mile around the historic city ring – clubs, organizations, businesses, and institutions present themselves and invite participation.
Musical contributions provide entertainment at various stations, including performances by the Klassik-Königlich-Kaiserlicher Regimentskapelle, hurdy-gurdy player Maria Hartl, and the clown Ella Popella. In total, the festival mile counted 101 stalls, demonstrations, and attractions for all age groups. Food and drinks are available along the entire circular route.
Access to the festival mile is free. Costs are incurred only for food and individual offers from exhibitors.
