Summery park festival in the most important garden monument between Potsdam and Dessau-Wörlitz
The Wiesenburg Castle Park is one of the most important garden monuments in Central Germany. Over approximately 100 hectares, an English landscape park was created starting in the 19th century, often mentioned in the same breath as the grand estates of Potsdam-Sanssouci and Dessau-Wörlitz. The castle pond, oak avenues, exotic tree species, sightlines, and the Renaissance castle at its center make the park one of Brandenburg's hidden gems.
Wiesenburg/Mark is a small municipality in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district, located in the Hoher Fläming Nature Park – Brandenburg's highest elevation. The landscape of rolling hills, beech forests, and castle ruins differs significantly from the flat northern Brandenburg and makes Wiesenburg an ideal starting point for hikers and cyclists.
The Park Festival is the largest annual event in the castle park. In 2026, it will take place on Saturday, August 8th, from 2 PM to 6 PM. The park transforms into an open festival ground, combining classic park activities with a family program and live music:
Admission is deliberately kept low at around €5 for adults – children are free. Food and drink stands are available on the festival grounds, traditionally offering regional specialties from the Fläming region.
Wiesenburg is located about 95 km southwest of Berlin. The RE7 train line runs directly from Berlin-Wannsee to Wiesenburg/Mark station, from where it's a 15-minute walk to the castle park. Those arriving by car can use the A9 (Berlin–Munich) or A2 (Berlin–Hanover) motorways, exiting at Dessau-Süd. Recommendation: combine your park visit with a hike in the Hoher Fläming Nature Park or a tour to the nearby Burg Eisenhardt in Bad Belzig.
The 2026 Park Festival will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 2 PM to 6 PM in Wiesenburg Castle Park. The summer festival of the most important garden monument between Potsdam and Dessau-Wörlitz opens the park for a broad program of sports, art, and music.
Program elements include boat trips on the castle pond, horseback riding and pony rides for children, stand-up paddling on the pond, archery on designated ranges, stalls with regional arts and crafts, a family program with a bouncy castle, face painting, and crafts, as well as live music from the JBO Wiesenburg brass band. In the evening, a laser show will conclude the festivities.
