Open-air sing-along at Paasch-Eyler-Platz under the open sky
"OstseeFerienLand singt" is a sing-along format by the Ostholstein tourism association OstseeFerienLand. The idea is simple: on balmy summer evenings, musician and entertainer Sören Schröder invites guests and locals to sing together under the open sky. In a very short time, a vibrant, spontaneous choir forms from everyone present – intergenerational, with no admission fee, and no musical prerequisites.
The song lyrics are displayed on a large LED screen – so everyone can join in without knowing the words. The repertoire ranges from German-language pop classics to English oldies and folk standards. Sören Schröder accompanies on guitar and leads the group through the evening, with humor and without false seriousness.
Grube is a municipality in the district of Ostholstein, state of Schleswig-Holstein, with just under 1,000 inhabitants, not far from Großenbrode and the Fehmarnsund. The Paasch-Eyler-Platz is the central village square – a fitting venue for a down-to-earth, community-focused event like OstseeFerienLand sings.
In 2026, OstseeFerienLand sings will take place in five different Ostholstein municipalities between April and August. Grube is one stop – others will follow in Heiligenhafen, Großenbrode, Dahme, and other locations in the OstseeFerienLand region. The format is part of the association's strategy to revitalize local public spaces beyond just the beach line.
The 2026 Grube edition of the OstseeFerienLand sings series takes place on Wednesday evening, June 10, at 6:00 PM. Sören Schröder brings his guitar and a large LED screen with the song lyrics; the Paasch-Eyler-Platz becomes an open-air stage. Within the first half hour, the group usually warms up – older guests quickly find the classics, younger ones the folk songs.
The OstseeFerienLand sings series stops in five municipalities in 2026. More dates at ostseeferienland.de.
