13 Years of Medieval History in Görsbach
Görsbach is a small village on the southern edge of the Harz mountains, in the Nordhausen district. For 13 years, it has been the annual meeting point for the medieval and ancient scene of Northern Thuringia. The courtyard market brings together reenactor groups from all eras: Celts with jewelry crafts, Romans with legionary equipment, Vikings with ship fragments, knights with tournament gear – a living history book.
Living History Program
The focus is on knight fights in the tournament area, craft demonstrations (bow making, basket weaving, blacksmithing, and much more), and hands-on activities for families. Storytellers recount tales from ancient times, and craftsmen, merchants, and traveling folk offer their wares. In the evening, the music group freymuetig takes the stage, followed by the grand fire show – one of the highlights of the market weekend.
