Charlottenburg Spring Market between Potters and Jewellery Designers
Karl-August-Platz is one of Charlottenburg's oldest market squares — a triangular plaza in the Westend, hosting market days twice a week (Wednesday and Saturday). Unlike the weekly markets at Winterfeldtplatz in Schöneberg (bohemian) or Maybachufer in Neukölln (Turkish market), Karl-August-Platz boasts a sophisticated, dignified neighbourhood atmosphere — Charlottenburg's middle class, well-maintained architecture, and older residents.
The Easter Market "Das Gelbe vom Ei" fits perfectly into this setting: potters, painters, fashion and jewellery designers from Berlin and the surrounding area showcase their work. The organisers — the association Family & Friends e.V. — emphasise authenticity: "original and unique," handmade pieces, everything directly from the artist. No mass-produced goods, no souvenirs. The market is part of the European Days of Artistic Crafts, an EU-wide initiative to promote artistic craftsmanship.
The Trinitatiskirche in the centre of Karl-August-Platz is a Protestant church built in 1900, a typical neo-Gothic brick building from Charlottenburg's Gründerzeit era. It opens its doors to visitors during the market, offering a peaceful break amidst the bustle. Live music is provided by Confessin' the Blues, a Berlin-based blues trio playing classic blues standards and singer-songwriter material.
On Sunday, March 29, 2026, the association Family & Friends e.V. transforms Karl-August-Platz into an artisan Easter market for seven hours. Pottery, painting, textile work, ceramics, glass art, and jewellery — all directly from artists in Berlin and Brandenburg. Live music comes from Confessin' the Blues, a Berlin-based blues trio. The Trinitatiskirche in the centre of the square opens for visits, and food and drink stalls cater to market-goers. Free admission.
The complete 2026 programme will be announced by the organiser via the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf-Zeitung and gratis-in-berlin.de. Key points for the market Sunday, March 29, 2026:
