Southern Germany's largest EDM festival at Poppenhofer Weiher
Since 2009, the Open Beatz Festival has drawn tens of thousands of electronic music fans to Herzogenaurach in Middle Franconia year after year. What started as a small festival edition for the regional scene has grown over about 15 years into one of Southern Germany's largest EDM events – in 2026, for the first time, featuring the declared largest lineup in the festival's history. The organizer is Open Beatz Festival GmbH.
The musical program runs concurrently on a total of eight stages: The main stage Caldera features international EDM and mainstream headliners (2026 including Timmy Trumpet, Cascada, Felix Jaehn, Alle Farben, Ski Aggu, Blasterjaxx, and Will Sparks). Stonelands and Zone 3 focus on hard beats – Hardstyle, Hardtechno, Uptempo. Psytrance and Goa are celebrated in the Magical Forest and Goa Garden. Darkwoods, the Grüne Stadl, and the Camping Stage complete the picture. In 2026, external collectives such as Munich's DNA Club, MAJA Events, Breakfast Club, Bass Army, and Heidewitzka Festival will curate their own stage areas for the first time.
Around 15,000 of the expected 90,000 visitors will stay overnight at the festival's own campsite right next to the festival grounds. The concept focuses on short walking distances, a family-friendly and sustainable orientation, and recreational activities around the Poppenhofer Weiher. The location by the lake between Herzogenaurach and Puschendorf is one of the festival's trademarks.
Herzogenaurach (around 24,000 inhabitants) is world-renowned as the home of sports giants adidas and Puma. In just a few years, the Open Beatz Festival has given the town a second international reputation in the EDM scene. Arrival via Nuremberg/Erlangen; shuttle buses run from Nuremberg station. The festival is located about 20 km northwest of the Franconian metropolis.
Three days of pure festival: From Friday, July 24th, to Sunday, July 26th, 2026, the program runs concurrently on eight stages around the Poppenhofer Weiher. Camping opens on Thursday, and the main program starts on Friday afternoon.
New in 2026: the stage hosting concept. Various collectives and clubs from all over Germany get their own areas: DNA Club from Munich, MAJA Events, Breakfast Club, Bass Army, and Heidewitzka Festival. This significantly expands the stylistic diversity of Open Beatz.
The complete set times by stage will be published in July 2026 on openbeatz.de.
