Summer Concert Tradition on the Beach
For years, Café-Restaurant Südwind has been a popular venue for live music in the seaside resort of Lubmin. During the warm season, the terrace near the beach transforms into a concert stage where local and regional bands from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern perform. The concept is simple: concert evening starts at 7:00 PM, free admission, food and drinks available on-site, dancing for anyone who wishes.
Musical Spectrum
The series covers a wide range of genres: rock classics with Hardy Krischkowsky and Carly Peran, classic Ostrock songs with the band Unfading, powerful blues with BluesRausch, and relaxed Dixieland sounds with the duo J&M. The program is curated anew each year by the spa administration in coordination with the café – with the aim of primarily presenting bands from the region.
Local Context
Lubmin on the Greifswalder Bodden is the largest seaside resort in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald. In addition to the beach, the pier, and the spa park, Café Südwind is one of the fixed points of contact for day-trippers and holidaymakers. With its open-air concert series, it provides the musical soundtrack to the long summer evenings on the Baltic Sea.
Concerts Café Südwind — edition 2026
The 2026 open-air concert season kicks off on July 17 with rocker Hardy Krischkowsky, who will return for additional performances on September 5 and 22. Carly Peran can be heard on July 24 and 31, and August 7. The Ostrock band Unfading will perform on July 22 and 29. In August, the rock duo S&M unzensiert (August 15 and 27) and bluesman BluesRausch (August 20) will follow, before the duo J&M rounds things off with Dixieland on August 29. All concerts start at 7:00 PM on the café's open-air terrace. Free admission, refreshments available on-site.

By train to Greifswald, then bus 287 to Lubmin. By car via B109/L262. The café is located near the beach promenade, with parking available nearby.
Admission and Refreshments
Concerts usually start at 7:00 PM. Free admission, refreshments available at the café-restaurant or the open-air bar. In case of bad weather, the concert may be moved indoors.
