Hip-Hop on Friday, Schlager Party on Saturday — 4th edition at Dürener Badesee
Since its premiere in 2023, the Open Air am See Festival at Dürener Badesee has quickly become a fixture in the NRW festival scene — precisely because it deliberately combines two very different genre worlds on two days. From June 5th to 6th, 2026, the festival opens for its 4th edition — Friday with a completely different musical DNA than Saturday, each with its own headliners and audience.
Friday is all about German Hip-Hop. With Sido (born 1980, one of the defining figures of the German rap scene since 2003) and Kool Savas (the "King of Rap", active since the late 1990s), the festival brings two of the most influential German rappers to one stage. Supplemented by Esther Graf, one of Germany's most sought-after newcomer rappers, and Kati K. A program that brings together generations of German hip-hop fans — from the Aggro Berlin veterans to the young rap generation around Esther Graf.
Saturday completely switches genres: Schlager and Mallorca Party dominate the stage, and an age restriction of 18+ applies. The headliner is Mia Julia, one of Germany's most successful Mallorca-Schlager artists. Accompanied by Julian Sommer, Isi Glück (Miss Germany and Schlager singer), Ikke Hüftgold, Mickie Krause, Marc Eggers, Rumbombe, Frenzy, Luca Dante Spadafora, Malin Brown, Specktakel, and Oli P — a total of 12 acts representing Germany's Schlager and Mallorca party scene. A lineup of this density is rarely found at festivals.
For decades, Dürener Badesee on the outskirts of Düren-Gürzenich has been known as a summer recreational area. With a large sunbathing lawn, swimming facilities, and a nature park atmosphere, it offers an unusual festival setting: the swimming area is closed during the festival, but the sunbathing lawn becomes the festival grounds, and the lake serves as a backdrop for sunset sets. Address: Am Badesee 1, 52349 Düren-Gürzenich.
Single-day tickets are available from €53.98, with weekend festival passes accordingly higher. VIP packages with exclusive areas, lounges, and inclusive food/drinks are also offered. Sale via Eventim and the official festival website. Those who want to experience both genres can attend both days with a festival pass — the different atmosphere on Friday (Hip-Hop) versus Saturday (Schlager 18+) is intentional.
Düren is the district capital of the Düren district in North Rhine-Westphalia, located between Aachen and Cologne. With around 92,000 inhabitants, the city is the economic and cultural center of the Voreifel region. Dürener Badesee in Gürzenich is one of the most important summer locations in the region — and with the Open Air am See Festival, Düren has had a festival anchor since 2023 that draws supra-regional attention to the Voreifel town.
The 2026 edition continues the established concept: Hip-Hop on Friday, Schlager on Saturday — completely different acts, moods, and audiences, but both days at the same location.
Tickets from €53.98 for single days. Weekend festival passes are higher. VIP packages include exclusive lounges, premium viewing areas, and inclusive F&B. Tickets via Eventim and openairamsee-festival.de. Camping packages available in the vicinity of the lake.
