Classics on the Baar — six vintages of vintage car culture in the southern Black Forest
Blumberg is located in the Schwarzwald-Baar district, on the Baar plateau — the landscape between the Black Forest and the Swabian Jura, where the Danube and Wutach rivers begin their course. The town is known to railway enthusiasts for the Sauschwänzlebahn, a tourist museum railway operating between Blumberg-Zollhaus and Weizen. Once a year, a different mobility community gathers here: the vintage car scene.
The Rad- und Motorsportverein Blumberg (RMSV) has been organizing its vintage car meeting since 2018 — 2026 will mark the 6th edition. The club, a classic South German sports club structure with cycling, motorsport, and social departments, uses the meeting as its main event and a showcase for the region's motorsport history.
Around 100 to 200 classic vehicles are expected — the exact number varies with the weather. The spectrum is wide:
The meeting begins at 10 a.m. with the arrival of the vehicles. By around 12 p.m., Leo-Wohleb-Straße is filled — the vehicles are freely accessible, owners chat with visitors, exchange restoration tips, and sources for spare parts. Lunch is served by the RMSV with sausages, schnitzel, fries, cake, and drinks. In the afternoon, there is usually a parade drive through the Wutachtal valley or a raffle — depending on the exact program. The event officially ends at 5 p.m.
Visitors to the vintage car meeting can extend their day in one of the most beautiful regions of Southern Germany: hike the Wutach Gorge, take a ride on the Sauschwänzlebahn, visit Bad Wildbad, or hop across the nearby Swiss border to the canton of Schaffhausen — the possibilities are diverse. Getting to Blumberg is easy via the A81 / B27 or by train (Schwarzwaldbahn to Donaueschingen, then bus).
The 6th Oldtimertreffen Blumberg will take place on Sunday, May 10, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Leo-Wohleb-Straße. The organizer is the Rad- und Motorsportverein (RMSV) Blumberg. The meeting is open to vehicles 30 years or older, although the exact threshold is flexibly interpreted by participants — young classics are also welcome.
Between Mercedes, Citroën, MG, Porsche, BMW, and VW, around 100 to 200 vehicles will gather on the festival meadow. The owners chat with visitors, and the RMSV provides refreshments with sausages, cake, and drinks. Admission for visitors is free.
