At the joint Oktoberfest, the brigades serve Bavarian delicacies and festival beer, the Kühsen fire brigade's music corps plays brass band music, Dirndl and Lederhosen are encouraged — and the competition for the best Wiesn outfit is part of the fun. The 2026 Oktoberfest of the Niendorf and Kühsen Volunteer Fire Brigades will take place on a September weekend in the Hof Dohrendorf riding hall, as in previous years. Bavarian delicacies, festival beer, brass band music by the Kühsen music corps, and a Wiesn outfit competition. The exact date will be published via the Amt Berkenthin.

The Volunteer Fire Brigades of Niendorf and Kühsen host their joint Oktoberfest every year on a Sunday in September — September 15th in 2024, September 21st in 2025. The date for 2026 is expected to follow the same pattern. The program remains tried-and-tested: Wiesn outfit competition, Bavarian delicacies, festival beer, brass band music in the Hof Dohrendorf riding hall.

Getting There

By car via the A20 (exit Lübeck-Süd), then B208 towards Mölln and continue to Niendorf. By train to Mölln or Lübeck, then continue by bus or taxi.

Recommendation

If you take the Wiesn outfit regulations seriously: bring your Dirndl and Lederhosen — the competition for the best outfit is a constant feature of the festival.

Hof Dohrendorf

The venue is the riding hall of Hof Dohrendorf in Niendorf — a spacious hall that is converted into a festival hall. With beer garden tables and benches, Maypole decorations, and a stage, the typical Wiesn atmosphere is recreated. The not-too-large hall (typical for village festivals) allows for closer mingling than would ever be possible in the large Munich festival tents.
