Grand Town Marksmen's Festival of the Steinfeld Marksmen's Association of 1845 with Parade and Procession on Sunday
The Steinfeld Marksmen's Association of 1845 e.V. is one of the oldest marksmen's associations in the Oldenburger Münsterland and looks back on 180 years of club history. Founded at a time when the marksmen's movement was experiencing a major upswing in Northern Germany, the association has survived political upheavals, world wars, and social change, and is today one of the largest associations in the municipality of Steinfeld.
The annual Town Marksmen's Festival (Stadtschützenfest) is significant far beyond the municipal borders. Friendly associations from Holdorf, Mühlen, Damme, Vechta, and the surrounding area travel with their own companies, brass bands, and fife and drum corps to march in the grand procession. For years, participation has been officially announced in the calendars of the friendly associations — for example, the calendar of the Holdorf Music Association confirms the parade to the Steinfeld Marksmen's Festival on Sunday, July 5th, 2026, at 1 p.m.
The Schützenplatz at Schemder Weg 6 is the club's permanent home. On the spacious grounds at the edge of Steinfeld, there is a festival tent, shooting range, club building, and parking spaces for the arriving friendly associations. The size of the grounds allows for the typical large processions with several hundred participants in uniform.
The festival weekend is spread over three days: Saturday, July 4th Opening and dance evening, Sunday, July 5th Festival service, parade, and grand procession starting at 1 p.m., marksmen's king shooting, and king proclamation, Monday, July 6th Morning pint and closing.
The detailed program for 2026, including times for individual program points, will be published by the Steinfeld Marksmen's Association on the club's website and in the local press. The general schedule follows the established three-day tradition of the Town Marksmen's Festival.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in spring/summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
