From June 20th to 22nd, 2026, the Förderverein Fußball der Turngemeinde Offenau will host its traditional Waldfest (forest festival) at the festival grounds in Hägelich — three days of summer celebration in the middle of the forest north of Offenau (Heilbronn district). Saturday from noon, Sunday and Monday from 11 am. Catering with draft beer, grilled sausages, and Swabian dishes, convivial get-together in the forest atmosphere — a classic club festival that finances the youth and sports activities of TG Offenau.

Getting there

By train: Bad Friedrichshall-Jagstfeld station (Frankenbahn Stuttgart–Würzburg line), then bus or taxi to Offenau (approx. 5 km). By car: A 6 (Heilbronn–Nuremberg) motorway, exit Bad Rappenau or Bad Friedrichshall.

Offenau — small community on the Neckar

Offenau is a small community with around 2,500 inhabitants in the Heilbronn district (AGS 08125), located on the right bank of the Neckar river between Bad Wimpfen and Bad Friedrichshall. The town has an extensive forest north of the community, where the Waldfestplatz im Hägelich (forest festival grounds) is located — a permanently established festival meadow with catering buildings and open-air seating. The Offenau Waldfest takes place here every year in June — from June 20th to 22nd, 2026.

Förderverein Fußball der TG Offenau

The organizer is the Förderverein Fußball der Turngemeinde Offenau — the football department of TG Offenau. With the Waldfest, the club finances youth work (coach training, jerseys, away games) and the active teams' match operations. All helpers are volunteers — from the dishwashing kitchen to the grill and the bar.

Waldfest tradition in Württemberg

The "Waldfest" is a typical Swabian-Württemberg club festival format: Instead of setting up the festival in the town center, the club sets up a festival tent and catering in a forest clearing — often a permanently established festival meadow. The appeal: shade of the trees on hot summer days, fresh air, village tranquility instead of city festival noise. Families can play on the surrounding meadows, and the forest invites short walks between meals. The Offenau Waldfest is a typical example of this tradition.
