Offenau Waldfest

Offenau — small community on the Neckar

Offenau is a small community with around 2,500 inhabitants in the Heilbronn district (AGS 08125), located on the right bank of the Neckar river between Bad Wimpfen and Bad Friedrichshall. The town has an extensive forest north of the community, where the Waldfestplatz im Hägelich (forest festival grounds) is located — a permanently established festival meadow with catering buildings and open-air seating. The Offenau Waldfest takes place here every year in June — from June 20th to 22nd, 2026.

Three days of festivities

Program 2026:

• Saturday, June 20th — from 12:00 PM: Opening with beer tapping, lunch, live music in the evening, festival until midnight
• Sunday, June 21st — from 11:00 AM: Morning pint with brass music, lunch, family afternoon, further catering in the evening
• Monday, June 22nd — from 11:00 AM: Morning pint, festival wind-down, family program until dismantling

Förderverein Fußball der TG Offenau

The organizer is the Förderverein Fußball der Turngemeinde Offenau — the football department of TG Offenau. With the Waldfest, the club finances youth work (coach training, jerseys, away games) and the active teams' match operations. All helpers are volunteers — from the dishwashing kitchen to the grill and the bar.

Waldfest tradition in Württemberg

The "Waldfest" is a typical Swabian-Württemberg club festival format: Instead of setting up the festival in the town center, the club sets up a festival tent and catering in a forest clearing — often a permanently established festival meadow. The appeal: shade of the trees on hot summer days, fresh air, village tranquility instead of city festival noise. Families can play on the surrounding meadows, and the forest invites short walks between meals. The Offenau Waldfest is a typical example of this tradition.

Catering and atmosphere

Classic club festival offerings: draft beer (regional brewery), grilled sausages, steaks, fries, Swabian specialties (Maultaschen, Spätzle), coffee and cake in the afternoon, catering by the members. Payment with festival chips. Free admission. Live music in the evening alternates between cover bands and regional brass groups — the exact program will be published in spring 2026 on the community website offenau.de.
