Two summer evenings with Württemberg wines and live bands on the Neckar
Gundelsheim, with around 7,100 inhabitants, is one of the smaller towns in the Heilbronn district and is located directly on the Neckar river between Neckarsulm and Bad Wimpfen. Its location between Württemberg vineyards and the Neckar loop makes the town a natural setting for a wine festival — Weinflair Gundelsheim has been established for several years and uses the city center around Brunnenstraße as the festival backdrop.
The focus is on the wines of the region. Württemberg is one of the few German wine-growing regions where red wine dominates — Trollinger, Lemberger, and Schwarzriesling characterize the grape variety alongside Riesling and Kerner. At Weinflair Gundelsheim, regional wineries and the cooperative will be serving their wines, as well as sparkling wines made from Württemberg grapes. For those who prefer something more colorful, there is also a cocktail bar with summer drinks.
The program is musically supported by bands like Lensflare and Sons of Oxi — regional acts with a mix of pop, rock, and cover songs. Performances will take place on both evenings from late afternoon until late at night. The catering establishments will provide wraps, wedges, onion cakes, and other festival specialties — a more modern culinary selection than at classic Württemberg wine festivals.
Burg Horneck towers high above Gundelsheim — the residence of the Teutonic Order commandery since 1525, today a cultural center and the town's landmark. The castle is clearly visible from the Weinflair festival grounds on Brunnenstraße and provides the characteristic backdrop for the two-day event. The city center itself is one of the most beautiful town centers on the lower Neckar with half-timbered houses from the 16th and 17th centuries.
Weinflair Gundelsheim 2026 will run on two consecutive evenings, Friday, June 12th, and Saturday, June 13th, 2026, starting at 5 PM each day. The event is organized by the town of Gundelsheim, which has established this format as a relaxed summer event in the Württemberg wine region on the lower Neckar.
In the festival area around Brunnenstraße, regional wineries will be serving their Trollinger, Lemberger, Schwarzriesling, and Riesling wines, as well as sparkling wines and cocktails. Catering establishments will offer contemporary festival food such as wraps, wedges, and onion cakes. Live music from the bands Lensflare and Sons of Oxi will shape the evenings.
