Gerolstein swingt – Slaughterhouse Jazzband

The concert by the Slaughterhouse Jazzband continues the Gerolstein swingt 2026 series and brings traditional jazz to one of Gerolstein's most beautiful venues: the staircase complex at the train station, directly on the banks of the Kyll.

Slaughterhouse Jazzband

The Slaughterhouse Jazzband is an established name in the German New Orleans jazz scene. Their repertoire includes classics of early jazz from the 1910s and 1920s, Dixieland standards, and swing pieces. With a classic lineup – trumpet, clarinet, trombone, banjo/guitar, tuba/bass, drums – they preserve the traditional New Orleans sound and convey the joie de vivre of this music directly to their audience.

Staircase Complex at Gerolstein Station

The staircase complex at Gerolstein station, directly on the banks of the Kyll, is an architecturally and atmospherically charming open-air venue. The natural amphitheater shape of the steps, the proximity to the water, and the backdrop of the historic station building create a unique setting for concerts.

Gerolstein swingt – The Series

Gerolstein swingt is a concert series launched in 2026 by Touristik Gerolsteiner Land. Over twelve concerts, the jazz, swing, and blues program is spread throughout the year. Alfons Hardt is responsible for the program. All concerts are free, made possible by the sponsorship of local supporters from the Gerolsteiner Land.

Early Summer Evening on the Kyll

With the concert date of May 29, 2026, the event falls into a period of early summer extension of the evenings. The Kyll, which flows through Gerolstein, the splashing of the water in the background, the sunset over the Eifel heights – the Slaughterhouse Jazzband plays against a natural backdrop that sensually completes the concert experience.
