Norderstraßenfest Flensburg
Neighbourhood festival in Norderstraße — communal street breakfast, flea market, and music
2026
About Norderstraßenfest
Norderstraßenfest — edition 2026
The Norderstraßenfest will also be hosted by Forum Hafenquartier in 2026. The exact date will be announced by the organiser in good time at forum-hafenquartier.de and on local channels — experience shows it is usually a Sunday in mid-September.
The format remains the tried and tested: communal street breakfast in Norderstraße from 9:00 AM, neighbourhood flea market from 11:00 AM, live music on the stage at I.-C.-Möller-Platz, and an evening wind-down. The motto 'Anything goes! What isn't done, doesn't happen' remains the programmatic core.

Flensburg — City of the Fjord and Norderstraßen
Flensburg, with around 90,000 inhabitants, is Germany's northernmost major city and is located in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, directly on the German-Danish border. The Norderstraße runs through the historic Old Town and the harbour district — lined with cafés, small workshops, galleries, and residential buildings. It is considered the heart of creative Flensburg and has been the focus of neighbourhood initiatives for years, aiming to make the street visible as a living space.
The Forum Hafenquartier
The Forum Hafenquartier e.V. is a citizens' initiative that curates life in the harbour district around Norderstraße. A small series of neighbourhood formats has grown out of this initiative — and the Norderstraßenfest is one of the most visible. In 2025, the 8th edition took place — making the event one of Flensburg's younger but already established neighbourhood festivals.
How the Festival Works
- 9:00 AM — Communal street breakfast: Residents bring tables, chairs, blankets, and breakfast to Norderstraße
- 11:00 AM — Neighbourhood flea market only for residents of the street and the district
- Stage at I.-C.-Möller-Platz with live music (often local bands via the Flensburg Musicians' Meetup)
- Street closure 8:00 AM–4:00 PM — Residents must move their vehicles beforehand
- In case of bad weather: Relocation to closed rooms of the residents
The motto 'Anything goes! What isn't done, doesn't happen' is the programmatic core — those who participate in the Norderstraßenfest, make it happen themselves.
