An Idea from Saarland

The market originated from a cooperation between the district town of Neunkirchen and the Neunkirchen shoe store Itt, which originally had the idea: dog owners should also be able to bring their four-legged friends along during the advent season without the animals feeling uncomfortable in the crowds. The concept was successful — the market quickly attracted visitors from Rhineland-Palatinate and Alsace.

The Dog Christmas Market falls on the last Sunday of the year with open shops in Neunkirchen's city center — shops around Stummplatz are open, so the market visit can be combined with a stroll through the city center.
