One of the largest folk festivals in the Upper Palatinate with a large Jura Hall and parade
The Neumarkter Jura-Volksfest is one of the largest and most traditional folk festivals in the Upper Palatinate. The town of Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz hosts the multi-day festival on the festival grounds. The centerpiece is the Große Jurahalle (Large Jura Hall), where festival hosts Bine and Marco Härteis, together with the Neumarkter Glossnerbräu brewery, create a lively Bavarian beer tent atmosphere.
The grand parade on the first Sunday of the festival, with clubs, music bands, and the festival hosts marching through the town to the festival grounds, forms the festive highlight. The program is deliberately broad:
Around the Jura Hall, modern rides and showman's businesses – operated by, among others, Hartmann's Vergnügungsbetriebe – invite you to enjoy yourself. A diverse range of food and drinks completes the festival. There is a dedicated festival bus service and regional transport links for getting there.
