Pre-Christmas Market in the Neuhardenberg Palace Ensemble
Neuhardenberg Palace in the Märkisch-Oderland district is one of the most beautiful classicist palace ensembles in eastern Brandenburg. Karl Friedrich Schinkel designed the palace and park for the Hardenberg family in the early 19th century. Today, it is home to a cultural foundation that uses the palace as a concert, conference, and event venue. Every year in November, the Neuhardenberg Palace Market transforms the ensemble into a pre-Christmas market.
The Palace Market takes place on the weekend of the 1st Advent 2026 — Saturday, November 28, and Sunday, November 29, starting at 12 PM each day. The organizer is the Stiftung Schloss Neuhardenberg.
Food trucks and stalls from local manufacturers offer regional specialties: mulled wine, gingerbread, smoked fish from the Oder lakes, honey, sausage, cheese, brandies, and liqueurs. The foundation emphasizes regional producers from Märkisch-Oderland and the surrounding area.
Artisans from Brandenburg present decorations, ceramics, jewelry, textiles, woodwork, and individual gifts — a valuable alternative to mass-produced goods.
Demonstrations of glassblowing, blacksmithing, Christmas baking, and other traditional crafts.
A special program highlight on Saturday is the festive Santa Claus Landing — Santa Claus's arrival at the palace square with accompanying activities for children.
The festively illuminated Schinkel architecture, the park at night, live music, and the scent of mulled wine create a special Advent atmosphere — you'll experience an Advent market with more atmosphere here than in most city center locations.
For the first Advent, Neuhardenberg Palace opens its doors for the Palace Market. Both days start at 12 PM and continue into the evening. Regional stalls from Märkisch-Oderland offer mulled wine, sausage specialties, gingerbread, honey, and brandies. Artisans present ceramics, jewelry, textiles, and woodwork. Live demonstrations of old crafts complement the offerings. On Saturday, the highlight is the Santa Claus Landing — a treat for families with children. Admission to the market: more information available at schlossneuhardenberg.de.
