About NDR Festival Büsum
NDR Festival Büsum — edition 2026
On July 11, 2026, the mudflat grandstand in Büsum will transform into an NDR-class open-air stage: With JORIS, one of the most successful German pop acts of recent years will perform live on the North Sea coast. His trademark — passionate pop, authentic band sound, and a distinctive voice — promises a concert right on the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site under the open sky.
The "Battle Grömitz vs. Büsum" will also take place: a sporty and fun competition between the mayors and tourism directors of the two resorts, an idea from NDR and the tourism authorities to playfully stage the rivalry between the North and Baltic Sea resorts. The Family Day on the same weekend rounds off the program with children's entertainment.

Concert right on the mudflats
The mudflat grandstand on Büsum's main beach is a unique concert venue: a wooden grandstand rises directly at the waterline of the Wadden Sea UNESCO World Heritage Site. During an event like the NDR Festival, thousands of guests enjoy the concert with a view of the mudflats and the horizon, while the band plays on the opposite stage — an experience where music and North Sea atmosphere blend together.
Büsum: Family Holidays on the North Sea
Büsum, located in the Dithmarschen district of Schleswig-Holstein, is one of Germany's most popular North Sea resorts and a family destination for generations. With a diverse event calendar throughout the year — Legends at the Sea, NDR Festival, Crabwalk, and many more — the Tourismus Marketing Service Büsum is one of the most active tourism providers on the North Sea.
Festival Highlights
Each year, the NDR Festival offers three central program pillars:

- The Battle Grömitz vs. Büsum: a sporty and fun competition between the mayors and tourism directors of the two Baltic and North Sea resorts
- The Family Day on the weekend with children's interactive concerts (HerrH), Zappeltier show, Lottis Welt, and many hands-on activities
