About Legends at the Sea
Legends at the Sea — edition 2026
Legends at the Sea returns to the Watt Grandstand on Büsum's main beach in 2026. The popular open-air series is extended to two concert evenings: Friday, May 29, 2026, and Saturday, May 30, 2026.
The main act on Saturday is Johannes Oerding — one of the most successful German live artists of his generation. His passionate pop, distinctive band sound, and songs like Alles brennt, An guten Tagen, or Hundert Leben promise a summer evening on the North Sea where music and the Wadden Sea merge. Over 4,000 tickets were already sold by early 2026.

Concert at a UNESCO World Heritage Site
The Watt Grandstand on Büsum's main beach is the concept for a unique concert stage: a wooden grandstand rises directly at the water's edge of the Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site since 2009. When the tide reaches the stage, the magic of the place becomes palpable — music and natural space merge into an experience you can't find in any classical concert hall.
Büsum: North Sea Resort with an Event Profile
Büsum, with around 4,700 inhabitants, is located in the Dithmarschen district of Schleswig-Holstein and is one of Germany's best-known North Sea resorts. With events such as the NDR Festival, Legends at the Sea, and the Crabwalk Festival, the Büsum Tourism Marketing Service has positioned itself as one of the most active event organizers on the German North Sea coast.
The Format: One Concert, One Star, One Wadden Sea
Legends at the Sea is designed as a concert evening for one prominent headliner each. Start at 8:00 PM, admission from 6:00 PM. The artist performs with a full band, and the audience sits on the grandstand facing the Watt stage — with the Wadden Sea and the horizon stretching out beyond. In 2025, the event evenings were extended to two nights, and this format will continue in 2026 with two concerts on May 29th and 30th.
2026: Johannes Oerding Live
The main attraction of the 2026 season is Johannes Oerding, one of the most successful German live artists of his generation: over 800,000 albums sold, multi-award-winning releases like Alles brennt, more than 438 million streams of his songs, and sold-out tours in recent years. His passionate pop, authentic band sound, and distinctive voice are ideally suited to the Watt Grandstand. Over 4,000 tickets were already sold by early 2026 — a clear indication of the event's popularity.
