Autumn in the Seaside Resort — Nature, Game, and Culinary Delights
Graal-Müritz is located on the southern edge of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula, directly on the Mecklenburg Baltic Sea coast (Rostock district). Behind the town begins the Rostocker Heide — one of Mecklenburg's largest contiguous forest areas, a nature park with old pine stands, mixed forests, moors, and rich wildlife (red deer, roe deer, wild boar, black stork). In October, when the forest turns golden and the deer rutting season has begun, the seaside resort invites you to the annual Nature and Game Week.
Concept: Forest, Game, Hiking, and Enjoyment
The themed week combines several program levels:
- Guided nature hikes through the Rostocker Heide, the Ribnitzer Große Moor, and the coastal forests. Trained nature guides from the Tourism and Spa GmbH explain the wildlife, the autumn mushroom diversity, the bird migration season, and the peninsula's geology
- Tracking tours with foresters and hunters, where guests are led into the forest on the tracks of game
- Game gastronomy in participating restaurants in Graal-Müritz: menus featuring venison, red deer, and wild boar, seasonally combined with mushrooms, chestnuts, wild herbs
- Workshops on game processing, smoking, and regional game cuisine
- Readings and lectures on topics such as forestry, wildlife ecology, hunting traditions
Opening Evening in the Rhododendron Park
The Game Week traditionally starts with an atmospheric opening evening in the Rhododendron Park Graal-Müritz: music, grilled game specialties, and an initial welcome drink invite you to the kickoff. In clear weather, the park with its old trees, colored in autumn hues, creates a special atmosphere.
Organizers and History
The organizer is the Tourismus- und Kur GmbH Graal-Müritz in cooperation with the Rostock Forestry Administration, participating restaurants, and the Rostocker Heide Nature Park. The themed week is part of a deliberate concept to extend the seasonal boundaries of summer beach tourism and establish Graal-Müritz as a cultural and natural history destination in autumn and spring.

Nature and Game Week 2026 — Autumn in the Seaside Resort
In 2026, Graal-Müritz will again offer its guests an intensive encounter with the Mecklenburg autumn in mid-October. The eight-day themed week starts on Friday, October 16th, 2026, with an opening evening from 6 PM in the Rhododendron Park — music and grilled game specialties will kick off the program.
On the following days (starting daily at 10:00 AM), guided nature hikes, tracking tours with foresters, culinary offerings in participating restaurants, and workshops will follow. The complete program will be announced in Summer 2026.

- Saturday, October 24th, 2026 — Conclusion of the Game Week

Getting There
Graal-Müritz is located about 30 km northeast of Rostock. By car via the B105 and L21. By train to Graal-Müritz station (RB connection from Rostock). The venues are spread throughout the town, the Rhododendron Park, and the Rostocker Heide.
