Autumn sales market with arts and crafts in a Renaissance setting
When the trees around Schloss Reinbek turn red and gold, the SchlossPartie traditionally begins in November — a two-day sales market that takes over the entire castle and its surroundings. Stylish Renaissance halls, wood-panelled rooms, and the castle courtyard will be filled by around 50 exhibitors presenting home decor, fashion, garden, and leisure items.
Schloss Reinbek was built between 1572 and 1576 by Duke Adolf I of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf. It is the only surviving Renaissance castle in Schleswig-Holstein and is located directly on the mill pond on the outskirts of Reinbek. Today, it is used as a cultural center — hosting concerts, exhibitions, weddings, and several markets a year, such as the SchlossPartie and the traditional Advent market.
The range of exhibitors is deliberately curated — you won't find mass-produced goods or typical flea market stalls here. What is offered:
Inside the castle, a small gastronomic selection (café area, hot drinks, snacks) accompanies the stroll through the rooms.
Reinbek is a town with around 28,000 inhabitants in the district of Stormarn, Schleswig-Holstein — located directly east of the Hanseatic city of Hamburg, with S-Bahn connections to Hamburg city center. The SchlossPartie attracts visitors from the greater Hamburg area, the district of Stormarn, and the Duchy of Lauenburg, who seek a peaceful alternative to the hustle and bustle of the big city.
The market consciously positions itself as the start of the season: 'a fine selection of beautiful things' to browse and buy, 'before the hectic Christmas season begins'. Those looking for original gifts can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere in November — unlike the crowded Advent markets in December.
As in previous years, exhibitors will occupy all rooms of the castle as well as the castle courtyard. Exhibitor registration in advance is handled by the cultural center — application materials for 2026 are available on the website. The castle can be explored as a Renaissance building by the public throughout the market's duration.
Range: Home decor, fashion, jewelry, garden decor, seasonal gift ideas, gourmet products. Detailed information and exhibitor list at schloss-reinbek.de.
Take the S-Bahn line S21 or S2 from Hamburg Hauptbahnhof to Reinbek (approx. 15 minutes), then a five-minute walk to the castle. By car, take the A24 (Reinbek exit). Parking available at the castle.
