About Aufwind! Festival
Aufwind! Festival — edition 2026
The festival marks both the culmination of a multi-month school project and the public launch of the format. The Sparkassen-Kulturstiftung and the Bürgerstiftung Stormarn have supported the project since the start of the 2025/26 school year; the festival brings the work of students from Ahrensburg, Reinbek, Glinde, and Hamberge to a district-wide visible stage.

School Project with a Societal Goal
«Aufwind! — Kreative Brise Stormarn» is a school project initiated by the working group «Stormarn kulturell stärken» (Strengthening Stormarn Culturally) — consisting of the Kreis Stormarn (Stormarn District), the Sparkassen-Kulturstiftung (Savings Bank Cultural Foundation), and the Bürgerstiftung Stormarn (Stormarn Community Foundation). Eight Stormarn schools — primary and community schools, a special needs school — are working with regional authors on topics related to contemporary literature, climate justice, diversity, and societal futures. The focus is on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Festival at Schloss Reinbek
On May 28, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the schools' results will be presented at Schloss Reinbek — one of the most beautiful Renaissance complexes in the Hamburg metropolitan region, located in the south of the Stormarn district. The rooms and the castle park will be used for stage performances, an exhibition of student work, and interactive supporting programs. Free admission. Families are explicitly invited.
