Gut Basthorst is located in the Herzogtum Lauenburg district, in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, about 30 km northeast of Hamburg. The historic 18th-century estate, with its manor house, barns, riding facilities, and park, is one of the most beautiful locations for high-quality markets in Northern Germany. The Christmas market, as part of the nationwide LebensArt market series, has been one of Northern Germany's most important Advent markets for enjoyment and living for years.

Getting There
Basthorst is located between Hamburg and Lauenburg on the B404. By car, take the A24 (exit Talkau) and L207 to Basthorst. Schwarzenbek train station is served by bus 8800. Paid parking is available directly at the estate.
Opening Hours
Opening weekend November 20-22, as well as the weekends of November 27-29, December 4-6, December 11-13, and December 18-20, 2026. Typical daily hours are Fri 2 PM–8 PM, Sat/Sun 10 AM–7 PM (to be confirmed in autumn 2026).
