Sprint distance triathlon in the Fichtelgebirge for everyone and age groups
The Nagler See Jedermann Triathlon brings a new triathlon event to the Fichtelgebirge — a region known for its natural landscape and hiking trails, but which has been rather underserved in triathlon sports until now. The sprint distance with 500 meters swimming, 20 kilometers cycling, and 5 kilometers running is an ideal entry-level distance: challenging enough for a competitive atmosphere, but achievable for many hobby athletes.
The venue is Nagler See in the municipality of Nagel in the Wunsiedel district of the Fichtelgebirge. The lake is a clear low mountain range lake with good water quality — perfect for the swimming leg. The cycling route leads through the typical Fichtelgebirge landscape: mixed forest, rolling hills, small villages. The running route circles the lake and nearby paths.
The competition is officially licensed by the Deutsche Triathlon Union (DTU) (permit number 02-26-01-06492) and is categorized as Other – For Everyone / Age Groups – Sprint Distance. This means: clear competition rules, timing according to DTU standards, awards in age groups, possibility for DTU ranking.
With a limit of around 200 participants, the competition remains manageable — not an anonymous mass event, but a competition where referees and helpers know the participants. This creates a familiar atmosphere where even triathlon beginners are welcome.
The organizer is runningConcepts, led by Sissy Baumann — a sports event agency established in the region with experience in running and triathlon competitions. Registration via runningconcepts.de or triathlondeutschland.de. The entry fees are 40 Euros for registrations until May 31, then 50 Euros until the registration deadline.
The second edition of the Nagler See Triathlon builds on the successful premiere in 2025. Sissy Baumann and the runningConcepts team have refined the competition format: optimized routes, professional timing, clear age group rankings.
Registrations via the runningConcepts platform or the DTU event database. Registration deadline is usually a few weeks before the competition — with the limit of 200 athletes, early registration is recommended.
Registration and details: runningconcepts.de and triathlondeutschland.de.
Entry fee: 40 Euros for registrations until May 31, 2026, 50 Euros from July 1, 2026. Registration is binding only upon simultaneous payment.

Combine participation with a sports weekend in the Fichtelgebirge — the Ochsenkopf and Schneeberg offer challenging hikes or mountain bike tours as a cool-down after the competition.
