Kirchweih with a Music Association Accent

The Musikantenkirchweih is the most important event organized by the Ederheim Music Association (Musikverein Ederheim e.V.). It is traditionally held in mid-September, following the mid-summer performances and before the district music festival in Mönchsdeggingen. The venue is the Ederheim Multi-Purpose Hall (MZH), which is transformed into a concert and dance stage for the weekend.

Two Days of Association Life

Over two days – Saturday and Sunday – a packed program unfolds:

• Saturday evening: Opening concert by the Ederheim Music Association, followed by a dance evening with a guest band.
• Sunday: Morning pint (Frühschoppen) with brass music, lunch with Swabian specialties, afternoon concert.

Active Musical Life

The Ederheim Music Association is a classic Swabian brass music ensemble with an extensive annual program: a helpers' party and performance at the district music festival in January, a Weißwurst breakfast and competition in April, numerous parades and performances during the summer months, the district music festival in Mönchsdeggingen in September, and a year-end concert in December. The Musikantenkirchweih is the association's own musical highlight amidst this busy schedule.

Ederheim in the Donau-Ries

Ederheim is located in the Swabian district of Donau-Ries in the Bavarian administrative region of Swabia. The municipality belongs to the Swabia district of the Allgäu-Swabian Music Association and cultivates a strong brass music tradition – typical for rural Swabia between the Danube and the Ries crater.
