Concert series in the traditional Kulturstadl in the Ries region – Jazz, singer-songwriters, and crossover programs
The Kulturstadl Reimlingen is a historic farm barn in the center of the Swabian municipality of Reimlingen, repurposed as a concert stage. The building at Hauptstraße 11 is one of the characteristic venues in the Nördlinger Ries and serves as the main stage for a regular concert series curated by Kulturforum Nördlingen e.V.. Approximately 8–12 concerts take place here annually – the spectrum ranges from jazz and singer-songwriter to classical chamber music and world music crossover programs.
The artistic profile of the Kulturstadl is diverse, yet curated: High-quality music projects, often with a Bavarian connection and off the beaten track, complemented by singer-songwriter evenings and international accents. The series aims to enrich the cultural offerings of the district town of Nördlingen and attracts audiences from the entire Ries region as well as neighboring Donau-Ries and Donau-Iller.
A highlight of the 2026 season is the performance by the Lisa Wahlandt Trio on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 7:30 PM. Munich-based jazz singer Lisa Wahlandt, winner of the Bavarian Cabaret Award, is at the forefront of the Bavarian-jazz crossover scene, blending Bavarian tradition with jazz, BossaNova, and African grooves. With pianist Andrea Hermenau and bassist Sven Faller, she forms an exceptional trio.
Reimlingen is a small municipality with about 1,400 inhabitants in the Donau-Ries district in Swabia (State of Bavaria). The municipality is located on the southern edge of the Nördlinger Ries – the 15-million-year-old meteorite crater, one of Central Europe's most significant geological sites, designated a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2006. Reimlingen's historic village center, with Reimlingen Castle and the parish church of St. Margaretha, provides the picturesque backdrop for the concert series at the Kulturstadl.
Concerts at the Kulturstadl have a unique charm: wooden beams, stone barn walls, seating for approx. 120–180 guests, a small bar serving Ries wines and beers during intermission, and close proximity to the artists. Those who love atmospheric concert experiences will find themselves right at home in the Reimlinger Kulturstadl.
