Open-air concert and pyro show in the Olympic Park Munich
For over two decades, the Munich Dream of a Summer Night has been a staple of the Bavarian capital's summer calendar. Organized by Olympiapark München GmbH, the open-air event combines live concerts with one of Germany's most spectacular fireworks displays—launched from the Olympiaberg over the Olympiasee and synchronized to music.
On the main stage at Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz, Hamburg singer Zoe Wees will perform in 2026, whose debut single Control became an international streaming hit. On the peninsula stage in the middle of the Olympiasee, the Colombian-German duo Cosmica Bandida will present psychedelic Cumbia and synthesizers, complemented by Canadian electronic producer Caribou. This covers a range of musical styles for the Summer Night Dream—from pop to electronica.
Around 10:15 PM, the main highlight begins: the pyrotechnic display, lasting over 30 minutes and synchronized to the music. Rockets, light effects, and drones paint images in the Munich summer sky—launched from the Olympiaberg, making the entire Olympic Park a natural grandstand. Those who want a good spot should arrive early.
Built for the 1972 Olympic Games, the Olympic Park is now one of Germany's most iconic city parks: Olympic Stadium, Olympic Tower, Olympic Hall, and the Olympic Lake with its sweeping tent-roof landscape (Frei Otto). For the Summer Night Dream, the area around the Olympic Lake transforms into an open concert landscape with beer gardens, international street food selections, and picnic areas.
Munich, the capital of Bavaria with over 1.5 million inhabitants, comes alive in the summer—with its beer halls, English Garden, Eisbach surfers, and of course, the Olympic Park. The Summer Night Dream is arguably the park's biggest single summer event—and for many Munich residents, it's a fixed annual ritual.
The 2026 edition of the Munich Dream of a Summer Night is all about strong female voices and electronic music from around the world. The headliner is Zoe Wees, who has achieved international success with her blend of pop, soul, and electronic beats. On the peninsula stage, Cosmica Bandida and Caribou will create their own sound world in the middle of the Olympic Lake.
The entire event area—Olympic Lake, Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz, the peninsula, and Coubertinplatz—will be equipped with bars, international street food stalls, and a beer garden. The evening culminates in the music-synchronized fireworks from the Olympiaberg starting at 10:15 PM.
