About Münsterland Festival meets BurgJazz
Münsterland Festival meets BurgJazz — edition 2026
The 2026 special edition is conceived as a hybrid format combining a classic concert festival, a picnic, and a children's concert. Burg Vischering, with its indoor and outdoor spaces, offers optimal possibilities for this: Seated concerts in the castle hall, a relaxed picnic concert on the castle grounds, and a family program in the courtyard.
The artist lineup combines international stars from jazz, world music, and contemporary classical music with young talents — Amaro Freitas from Brazil, the Emil Brandqvist Trio from Sweden, and Dutch trumpeter Eric Vloeimans create a deliberately cosmopolitan program.

A biennial festival brand meets an established series
The Münsterland Festival is a biennial event by Münsterland e.V., showcasing music and art in special locations throughout the region since 2002 — from castles and abbeys to industrial monuments. BurgJazz Lüdinghausen, in turn, is an established jazz concert series held at Burg Vischering. The 2026 special edition combines both brands into a three-day concentrated, high-quality concert experience.
Burg Vischering — one of Westphalia's most beautiful moated castles
The venue is Burg Vischering in Lüdinghausen — a fully preserved 13th-century moated castle, now used as a museum and event location. With its moats, inner courtyard, hall, and outdoor areas, it offers an unusual concert backdrop that significantly shapes the festival's atmosphere.
Artists 2026
The lineup combines international stars with young talents: GANNA feat. Laura Robles (vocals + Cuatro), Luciano Biondini (accordion) and Niti Ranjan Biswas (tabla) in a duo, Afra Kane (Swiss pianist and singer), Eric Vloeimans' Pico Bello Extended (Dutch trumpeter with big band), the Gorilla Club children's concert, Jin Jim (jazz picnic concert), Amaro Freitas (Brazilian pianist), and the Emil Brandqvist Trio (Swedish jazz trio).
Diverse concert formats
Unlike a classic concert festival, the special edition focuses on changing formats: a picnic concert with Jin Jim for a family atmosphere on the castle grounds, a children's concert (Gorilla Club) for young audiences, and several classically seated concerts in the castle hall with top-class soloists and ensembles.
Lüdinghausen in the Coesfeld district
Lüdinghausen is a town with just under 25,000 inhabitants in the southern Coesfeld district — typical Münsterland landscape with castles, palaces, and moats. Burg Vischering is one of its defining landmarks and part of the Münsterland's "100 Castles Route". With the Münsterland Festival meets BurgJazz, it becomes a first-class festival stage in 2026.
