From May 8th to 11th, 2026, the historic old town of Mosbach will transform into a grand Spring Festival in a double jubilee year: The city in the Neckar-Odenwald district celebrates 50 years as a Große Kreisstadt and 1200 years of Mosbach. SF Band, The Chaotics, Plug'n'Play, and Amokoma will perform on two stages, alternating with brass music from the districts. Additionally, there will be amusement rides on the AWG parking deck terrace, culinary stands, and a children's program on Monday afternoon centered around the jubilee theme.

From May 8th to 11th, 2026, Mosbach's old town celebrates the Spring Festival in a double jubilee year (1200 years Mosbach, 50 years Große Kreisstadt). Four days of live music with SF Band, Snow, Hippie and the Boss, The Chaotics, Shadow Acoustics, Plug'n'Play, and Amokoma. Amusement rides on the AWG parking deck, culinary stands, free admission.

Mosbach Celebrates the Double Jubilee

The 2026 Spring Festival is the highlight of the jubilee year: 1200 years after the city's first documented mention and 50 years after its elevation to Große Kreisstadt, the historic old town between the market square and the collegiate church transforms into a festival and concert mile for four days. The event is organized by the Mosbach Aktiv e.V. business association in cooperation with the City of Mosbach.

Two stages — one at the market square, one on the AWG parking deck terrace — will offer programming ranging from the Schwarzach-based SF Band and the hard rock cover band Snow to the Schwarzach classic Amokoma. In between, the Heddebörmer Musikanten and the Allfelder Musikanten will play traditional brass music from the surrounding districts.

Getting There

By train: Mosbach is on the Frankenbahn line (Stuttgart–Würzburg) and the Neckartalbahn line. The Mosbach (Baden) station is about an 800-meter walk to the market square. By car: Take the A 81 (Osterburken exit) or the B 27. Parking in the AWG parking garage will be limited during the festival due to the amusement rides.

1200 Years of Mosbach, 50 Years as a Große Kreisstadt

The historic half-timbered town in the Neckar-Odenwald district is celebrating a double anniversary in 2026: 1200 years since Mosbach was first mentioned in documents, and 50 years of its status as a Große Kreisstadt (major district town) in Baden-Württemberg. The municipal Spring Festival, held annually at the end of April or beginning of May, falls right in the middle of the jubilee year and will be the culmination of the celebrations. The Mosbach Aktiv e.V. business association, in collaboration with the city, is planning four days of programming that will fill the entire city center.

Four Days of Live Music at the Market Square

The 2026 Spring Festival kicks off on Friday, May 8th, at 5 PM with the SF Band from Schwarzach and the band Snow. On Saturday, May 9th, the Allfelder Musikanten and Hippie and the Boss will play during the day, while The Chaotics, one of the region's best-known cover bands, will take over the main stage in the evening. Sunday, May 10th, is dedicated to the Heddebörmer Musikanten, Shadow Acoustics, and Plug'n'Play. The festival day on Monday, May 11th, will conclude with the Schwarzach rockers Amokoma.

Amusement Rides on the AWG Parking Deck Terrace

A special feature of the Mosbach Spring Festival is the amusement area on the upper level of the AWG parking garage — rides, candy stalls, and children's carousels are located directly above the city center, offering views over Mosbach's half-timbered rooftops. In the historic city center, around the market square and St. Juliana's Church, Mosbach restaurateurs will present specialties, and regional breweries (Mosbacher Brauhaus, Wagner Bräu) will be serving drinks.

Jubilee Day on Monday

Monday was originally intended to feature a children's program on the jubilee theme — workshops, hands-on activities, and a collaborative art project for the 1200th anniversary of Mosbach. The business association had to cancel the children's program due to weather; the evening program with Amokoma will proceed as planned.
