Four open-air evenings with Jan Delay, Dick Brave and Nena on the Rhine — the Baumberg Bürgerwiese becomes a summer stage in July 2026
The Monheimer Sommer is the central open-air event of the city of Monheim am Rhein and one of the most beautiful small concert venues in the Rhineland. From July 8th to 11th, 2026, Monheimer Kulturwerke GmbH will transform the Bürgerwiese Baumberg directly on the Rhine into a summer stage featuring well-known names from the German music scene — with a view of the river, space for up to 5,000 standing places, and professional event technology.
Jan Delay & Disko No. 1 will open the Monheimer Sommer with a retrospective of 25 years of solo career. The Hamburg-based HipHop-Soul-Reggae artist brings his best hits and new pieces, accompanied by the live band Disko No. 1. Starts at 8 PM. Please note: already sold out — remaining tickets only on the secondary market.
Dick Brave returns to the Monheim stage with his show “Back for More”. The Canadian-German artist (alias Sasha) celebrates classic Rock'n'Roll from the 50s and 60s, combined with his own songs and a fantastic live band. Starts at 8 PM.
The grand finale: Nena with her Live 2026 program. The Neue Deutsche Welle icon, known for “99 Luftballons”, “Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann”, and “Nur geträumt”, presents the greatest hits of her over 40-year career — stadium rock on a small Rhine scale. Starts at 8 PM.
As part of the Monheimer Sommer, a picnic concert with the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra is also planned — a solidarity concert with the Ukrainian symphony orchestra, which has established itself as a regular guest in German concert halls in recent years. The exact date will be announced in spring 2026.
The Bürgerwiese Baumberg is located directly on the Rhine in the south of Monheim and offers an extraordinary open-air backdrop with a view of the river. Standing room for up to 5,000 guests, a professional stage, several bars and food trucks, sanitary facilities — the entire area is specially developed for each concert. The concerts are standing events; seating is exclusively available in limited reserved areas for people with mobility impairments.
Monheimer Kulturwerke GmbH is the cultural subsidiary of the city of Monheim am Rhein. It manages the city's cultural program and hosts the Monheimer Sommer annually as its central open-air event. In 2025, the Monheimer Sommer set a new record with over 16,000 visitors and definitively established itself as a fixture on the Rhineland concert calendar.
Monheim am Rhein (approx. 45,000 inhabitants, located between Düsseldorf and Cologne) has made a name for itself in recent years as a culturally ambitious medium-sized city — through innovative economic policies, tax programs, and targeted investments in art and culture. The Monheimer Sommer is a visible part of this strategy.
The Monheimer Sommer 2026 brings together three stars of the German music scene from July 8th to 11th at the Baumberg Bürgerwiese on the Rhine. On July 8th, Jan Delay & Disko No. 1 open with a retrospective of 25 years of solo career (sold out). On July 9th, Dick Brave follows with his show “Back for More” — Rock'n'Roll from the 50s and 60s with a live band. On July 11th, Nena crowns the festival with her Live 2026 program and the greatest hits of a 40-year career. Concerts start at 8 PM each evening, open-air standing concerts with a view of the Rhine, professional stage technology, and catering on site.
Additionally, the organizer plans a picnic concert with the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra.
