KI Festival Heilbronn — AI for Everyone
The KI Festival Heilbronn is Germany's most important low-threshold platform for Artificial Intelligence. Organized by the IPAI Foundation (Innovationspark KI) on the IPAI SPACES Campus in Zukunftspark Wohlgelegen, the festival unites research, business, education, art, and civil society over one weekend. In 2026, the 5th edition will take place on Saturday, July 25, and Sunday, July 26 — in the city of Heilbronn (state of Baden-Württemberg).
2026 Program — Stage, Workshops, Use Cases
The festival is built on four central pillars:
- Main Stage — Keynotes, panel discussions, and artistic performances with over 50 speakers from science, business, and practice
- Workshop Tents — over 20 interactive workshops in two dedicated tents on topics such as prompt engineering, AI in schools, generative AI, ethical AI
- Exhibition Zone — over 50 practical use cases with hands-on projects, interactive technology demonstrations, and live presentations from companies, research institutions, and startups
- Art Zone — AI art installations, live music generated by AI, creative hands-on activities
Families and All Generations Welcome
The festival is explicitly for everyone: families, students, seniors, university students, professionals. Special program items for children include volleyball tournaments, “AI face painting,” and family-oriented workshops. Beach volleyball courts, street food stalls, and live music turn the festival grounds into a summer weekend destination that goes far beyond mere technology transfer.
IPAI Foundation and the Heilbronn Zukunftspark
The IPAI Foundation (Innovationspark Künstliche Intelligenz) is Germany's largest AI hub and is developing into a European AI hub in the Zukunftspark Wohlgelegen in Heilbronn. The IPAI SPACES Campus offers spaces for research, startups, and established companies across several hectares. With the KI Festival, the Foundation opens its doors to the general public once a year — up to 13,500 visitors are expected.
Heilbronn — the Economic Metropolis on the Neckar
Heilbronn (around 130,000 inhabitants) is the economic center of the Heilbronn-Franken region and an independent city on the Neckar. In recent years, the city has developed into a hotspot for education and technology — with the Bildungscampus initiative, TUM Heilbronn, the AcademyCube, and now IPAI as an AI heavyweight. The KI Festival is a symbol of this transformation: Heilbronn is more than wine, Volksfest, and industrial city — it is Germany's emerging AI location.
