120 Dishes, 30+ Trucks, One Weekend

When Heilbronn opens its street food gates on the first May weekend, foodies from the entire Stuttgart, Mannheim, and Karlsruhe region flock to Wertwiesenpark. Over 30 street food trucks and stalls present around 120 different dishes from the world's kitchens – one of the densest street food selections in Baden-Württemberg. The Wertwiesenpark festival grounds at the Neckarhalde entrance are the venue for this culinary world tour for three days, located directly on the Neckar.

Culinary World Tour in One Place

The selection is broadly conceived: Asian — Vietnamese Pho soup, Korean Bibimbap, Thai Pad Thai, Japanese Ramen, Indian Tikka Masala. Latin American — Mexican Tacos and Burritos, Peruvian Ceviche, Brazilian Acarajés. European — French Crêpes and Galettes, Italian Pasta and Arancini, Spanish Paella, Greek Souvlaki. American — Pulled Pork Burgers, Smashed Burgers, BBQ Ribs, Loaded Fries. Vegetarian and Vegan — Falafel, Buddha Bowls, vegan burgers and tacos. Sweets — Donuts, Ice Cream, Churros, Crêpes with chocolate.

The Festival Pass Concept

Admission is designed uniquely within the Street Food Festival concept: You pay a one-time fee of 4 Euros for the festival pass at the entrance, granting you free entry for the entire weekend. Children up to 12 years old get in for free. Dogs are allowed — an unusual gesture in Germany, making the festival family-friendly for dog owners. You then only pay for the food and drinks at the trucks themselves, typically between 6 and 12 Euros per dish — the typical street food price range.

Heilbronn — Wine, Käthchen, Neckar

Heilbronn, with around 126,000 inhabitants, is the seventh-largest city in Baden-Württemberg and a central hub in the Unterland region. It is known for Württemberg wine production — Heilbronn is the largest wine city in Baden-Württemberg — and for the character Käthchen from Heinrich von Kleist's play "Das Käthchen von Heilbronn." Wertwiesenpark is centrally located on the Neckar in the Heilbronn-Mitte district, in close proximity to the city center. Visitors to the Street Food Festival can perfectly combine their day with a stroll through Heilbronn's old town, a walk along the Neckar riverbank, or a visit to the Käthchenhaus.
