71 Years of Schützen- und Volksfest Neu Wulmstorf
The Schützenverein Neu Wulmstorf von 1952 e.V. is hosting its 71st Schützen- und Volksfest in 2026. Over seven decades, the festival has become an integral part of community life, attracting marksmen's families, residents, and guests from the western Hamburg metropolitan area every year.
Three Days of Festivities from July 17th to 19th, 2026
Friday to Sunday forms the framework for the festivities. Friday opens with the King's Shoot and the Grand Tattoo, Saturday brings the Festival Parade and the grand King's Ball, Sunday concludes with Family Day, morning pint, and the King's Proclamation.
Festplatz Wesenberg
The venue is the traditional Festplatz Wesenberg in Neu Wulmstorf. The large festival tent is erected here, the showmen bring their carousels, dodgems, and stalls, and the entire festival grounds transform into a summer folk festival with a marksmen's core for three days.
King's Shoot and Grand Tattoo
The King's Shoot on Friday determines the new majesties of the association. In the evening, the Grand Tattoo follows with a torchlight procession and traditional music – an emotional moment that brings together the association's family and the community.
Festival Parade and King's Ball
On Saturday afternoon, the Festival Parade with marksmen, marching bands, and invited neighboring associations marches through Neu Wulmstorf. Afterwards, the marksmen's family celebrates the grand King's Ball in the festival tent with a live band and dancing until late into the night. Sunday brings Family Day with the Children's King's Shoot, games, and the festive proclamation.
71st Schützen- und Volksfest NW — edition 2026
The 71st edition in 2026 continues the association's seventy-year tradition. The combination of a classic marksmen's program and the folk festival component makes this festival particularly charming and appeals to families with children as well as the region's marksmen families.
Festplatz Wesenberg offers ample space for the festival tent, carousels, and showmen's stalls.
