Augarten Party Leck

Open-Air Summer in a North Frisian Municipality

Leck, with just under 7,500 inhabitants and the administrative seat of the Südtondern district in Nordfriesland, is a central hub between Niebüll and Süderlügum, close to the Danish border. The village has a special treasure: the Augarten, a central, spacious park area on Bergstraße, which is regularly used as an open-air stage in the summer. This is where the Bürgerfestverein Leck e.V. (Leck Civic Festival Association) hosts its three Augarten Partys – a format close to the community with live music, DJ sets, and the relaxed atmosphere of a North German village summer festival.

Three Evenings, Three Moods

The program is spread across the summer months: June, July, and August. Each date has its own character – sometimes rock and country live music (as in 2026 with Mick Mason & Friends), sometimes a show band, sometimes a Schlager night with a DJ. This covers a broad spectrum of tastes and appeals to all generations.

Civic Festival Association as the Volunteer Backbone

Behind the series is the Bürgerfestverein Leck, an association of local clubs and committed citizens, which also organizes the larger Lecker Bürgerfest (Leck Civic Festival) beyond the Augarten parties. Admission to the Augarten parties is always free – the event is financed through sponsors, membership fees, and catering revenue.

Leck and Nordfriesland

Leck is conveniently located between Niebüll (the terminus of the Sylt Shuttle) and Süderlügum, directly on the B199 federal highway. Those planning a North Frisia tour often combine the Augarten Party with day trips to the islands of Sylt, Föhr, or Amrum, or to the Danish coast.
