An Old Town of Half-Timbers and Sandstone
Möckmühl is located in the northern Heilbronn district (AGS 08125) on the Jagst river, boasting one of the most beautiful preserved old towns in Northern Württemberg: narrow alleys, half-timbered houses, and the castle ruins above the town. The annual city festival on the third weekend in June brings this historic setting to life with stages, stalls, and family activities – supported by local clubs and the city administration.
Three Days of Festivities in the Old Town
From Friday, June 19th, starting at 6 PM until Sunday, June 21st, 2026, the central squares and streets of the old town will be filled with festival activities. Opening on Friday evening with live music until 1 AM. Saturday and Sunday during the day, there will be a play street for children, a bungee trampoline as a highlight, and live bands on the main stage every evening. Möckmühl clubs – fire department, sports clubs, churches – will offer regional specialties, wine from the Jagst valley, and beer.
23rd Möckmühl City Run on Sunday
On Sunday morning, June 21st, 2026, the Möckmühl City Run enters its 23rd edition. New for 2026: A completely new route over 5 km and 10 km, an earlier start to avoid midday heat, and for the first time, the finish line will be in the Möckmühl Stadium instead of the market square. Bambini and school runs complement the program.
City Run Schedule
- 9:00 AM: 5-km run and Nordic Walking
- 9:20 AM: Bambini runs for the little ones
- 10:00 AM: 10-km run
- 10:15 AM: School runs
- 12:30 PM: Award ceremony — followed by winding down at the city festival
Möckmühl in the Jagst Valley
The Jagsttal-Bauland region combines viticulture (Möckmühl is in the Württemberg wine region), half-timbered architecture, and castles. The city festival is not just a club event – it's a showcase for a region that tourists usually only encounter via nearby Schwäbisch Hall or Bad Mergentheim.
