Open-Air Festival in the Ammergau Alps
The BK Open Air is a two-day music festival held in the Kurpark of Bad Kohlgrub. The spa town of Bad Kohlgrub is located in the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, in the heart of the Ammergau Alps. The Kurpark, with its alpine backdrop, is one of the most attractive open-air locations in Upper Bavaria.
Bavarian Music Scene and More
On the main stage in 2026, performers will include Vollbaffy, Lika Doss, Elena Rud, HE RO, and Laurenz Nikolaus (Friday), as well as Da Oide Schlog, Caro Fux, Monoboson, Fenzl, and Des Chowieda (Saturday). On the second stage, the meiVEREINSBÜHNE, Maicho and Blechzipfl will perform.
Family-Friendly Concept
The festival is explicitly designed to be family- and community-friendly: children under 11 years old have free admission, while teenagers aged 12-17 pay €10 per day. There is also a VIP ticket option with a reserved seat on the terrace, a 4-course meal at the Restaurant Il Duetto Bad Kohlgrub, and service.
Cooperation with AlpinFM
The festival is organized by the promoter BK Open Air in cooperation with the regional radio station AlpinFM. Tickets are available from München Ticket, the tourist information offices of the Ammergau Alps, and local ticket outlets.
Alpine Summer Night
With doors opening at 5 PM and concerts starting at 5:30 PM, the Kurpark transforms into a cozy open-air living room. Food corners offering regional specialties complete the concept. On clear days, the view extends far into the Ammergau Alps.
BK Open Air — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the BK Open Air will take place from July 10 to 11 in the Bad Kohlgrub Kurpark. Twelve live acts will perform on the main stage and the meiVEREINSBÜHNE, complemented by food corners offering regional specialties.
The lineup offers a cross-section of the young Bavarian music scene: Vollbaffy, Lika Doss, Elena Rud, HE RO, Laurenz Nikolaus (Friday), Da Oide Schlog, Caro Fux, Monoboson, Fenzl, Des Chowieda (Saturday), plus Maicho and Blechzipfl on the community stage.

Getting There
Bad Kohlgrub is located between Murnau and Oberammergau. By car: take the B23 / A95 (exit Eschenlohe). By train: Bad Kohlgrub station on the Murnau–Oberammergau line, then a short walk to the Kurpark.
Tickets
Tickets available via muenchenticket.de and the Ammergau Alps tourist information offices. Junior tickets (ages 12–17) cost €10 per day; children under 11 are free. Limited VIP tickets include a 4-course meal.
Tips
Bring a seat cushion or blanket for the lawn areas. Weatherproof clothing is recommended, as the festival takes place in all weather conditions.
