The Egeln Water Castle in the southern Salzlandkreis is one of the well-preserved water castles in Central Germany. Moat, keep, courtyard – you'll hardly find a better backdrop for a medieval festival in Saxony-Anhalt. Once a year, COEX Veranstaltungen invites craftsmen, jugglers, knights, and minstrels to the water castle. The medieval spectacle has developed into one of the region's spring highlights over the past decade.
You'll immerse yourself in a vibrant market with craftsmen demonstrating blacksmithing, stonemasonry, and carpentry, merchants selling historical goods, and camp life that fascinates both children and adults alike. Knight fights take place several times a day, and the fire show on Saturday evening is the visual highlight. For children, there's candle making, archery and crossbow shooting, as well as a historically powered carousel. In 2026, the spectacle falls within the anniversary year 1085 Years of the First Mention of the town of Egeln.

A continuous program runs in the castle courtyard on both days: craftsmen at their stalls, knight fights several times daily, merchants' market, camp life, candle making for children, archery, and a historical carousel. On Saturday evening, the fire show takes place at dusk. The organizer is COEX Veranstaltungen, which organizes medieval markets nationwide.
