Three-day medieval market at Domplatz as part of the Fürstenwalde City Festival
Fürstenwalde/Spree is the seat of the historical Diocese of Lebus and home to St. Mary's Cathedral, one of Brandenburg's most significant Gothic hall churches. The Domplatz in front of it provides the perfect setting for a medieval market.
From Friday, July 3rd to Sunday, July 5th, 2026, the market will take place as part of the Fürstenwalde City Festival. The market is part of a larger festival weekend with stages in the city centre and a community program in the old town.
Cocolorus Diaboli is a renowned German medieval troupe that has been performing historical theatre, acrobatics, and fire shows throughout Central Europe for decades. In Fürstenwalde, they will present:
The Gothic cathedral is the largest hall church of the Diocese of Lebus and has been the spiritual centre of the region since the 14th century. The play of light and shadow in the evening, as the fire shows begin, makes the market one of the most atmospheric medieval markets in Eastern Brandenburg.

You can reach Fürstenwalde/Spree by taking the RE1 train from Berlin Hauptbahnhof in about 45 minutes. From Fürstenwalde station, it's a 15-minute walk to Domplatz.
