City Festival in the Heart of Fürstenwalde

The Stadtfest Fürstenwalde is the grand summer festival of the Spreestadt in the Oder-Spree district – with around 32,000 inhabitants, it is the only medium-sized city in eastern Brandenburg on the Spree. In 2026, the festival runs from July 3rd to 5th. The central city center around the market square, cathedral square, and cathedral garden transforms into a two-day festival mile with two stages, a medieval market, a local zoo, and a family fun park.

Main Stage Market Square

On the main stage at the market square, renowned acts from rock, pop, Schlager, and classical music will perform in 2026:

• Bonfire – the German rock legend.
• Dr. Motte – founder of the Berlin Loveparade.
• DJ Tomekk – Hip-Hop DJ.
• Mitch Keller – Schlager singer.
• Christian Lais – Schlager star.
• Gaby Baginski – Schlager classic singer.
• Roof Garden – Rock band.
• Tabaluga and Lilly – the children's musical by Andreas Engel (based on Peter Maffay).

Medieval Stage Cathedral Square

At the Domplatz (Cathedral Square), the theatre ensemble Cocolorus Diaboli sets up its medieval stage with minstrels, acrobats, mock combat, and a medieval market. Open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM (Sat/Sun).

Family Area Cathedral Garden

The Dom-Garten (Cathedral Garden) hosts the children's fun park:

• Bouncy castles, climbing frames, craft stations.
• Puppet theater on Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 PM.
• Face painting stations, arcade games.
• Day Ticket: €10 per child, Weekend Ticket €15 – includes one accompanying adult.
• Local Zoo "Wiese an der Katzentreppe" with animal guided tours.

Sunday Program Highlights, July 5th

• 9:30 AM – Citizen's breakfast with breakfast package from Fleischerei Ziehm (€5).
• 11:00 AM – Open-air church service with Pastor Kevin Jessa.
• 12:00 PM – Brandenburg Garde Brass Orchestra.
• 3:30 PM – "Tabaluga und Lilly" children's musical (Andreas Engel) with United Dancers.
• 5:00 PM – Bad Saarow Orchestra (Hosted by DJ Marco Lessentin).

"Quiet Hour" and Inclusion

A Brandenburg special: on Saturday from 3 PM to 4 PM is "Quiet Hour" – the volume on the festival grounds is significantly reduced to allow individuals with sensory sensitivities (autism spectrum, dementia) to enjoy the festival peacefully. Sustainability and accessibility are also special focuses for the Fürstenwalde festival committee.

1. FC Union Berlin Fan Shop

On the Domplatz, 1. FC Union Berlin sets up its official fan shop – jerseys, scarves, and merchandise from the Bundesliga club from Köpenick (approx. 50 km northwest). Additionally, FIFA World Cup matches will be broadcast live on a big screen.

Getting There and Accessibility

Free bicycle parking with 160 spaces at the Mühlenstraße entrance. Approximately a 10-minute walk from Fürstenwalde station to the market square; several bus lines stop at the market. Car parking available around the city center.
