Kirchweih Rechtenbach

Kirchweih in the Spessart

The Kirchweih Rechtenbach is the traditional Kirchweih of the municipality of Rechtenbach in the Main-Spessart district in the administrative region of Lower Franconia in Bavaria. Rechtenbach is located in the heart of the Spessart, one of the largest contiguous deciduous forest areas in Germany. The Kirchweih is one of the most important village festival traditions in the region.

Part of a Vibrant Club Year

The Kirchweih is part of an active year of events in Rechtenbach, supported by numerous clubs and organizations – including the SPD, the volunteer fire department, TSV, and the kindergarten. Around 30 events shape the municipality's annual calendar, from Carnival to the Summer Night Festival to the Christmas Market. The Kirchweih in September is one of the social highlights.

Customs and Community

Around the Kirchweih date, the village community and guests come together for hospitality, conviviality, and customs. The Kirchweih follows the tradition of Franconian Kirchweih festivals and is an important social meeting point in the village year.

Significance for the Community

The Kirchweih Rechtenbach is a fixed date in the municipality's event calendar and an expression of the active club life in the Spessart. It combines village tradition, conviviality, and the lifestyle of the Spessart Nature Park.
