When Matthias Reim plays an open-air concert, loyal fans, memories, and sometimes entire generations come together. 2026 marks his 35th career anniversary — and Reim is celebrating it with an extensive tour under the motto „VERDAMMT, ICH LIEB DICH!” (Damn, I love you!), named after his iconic 1990 number-one hit. One of the stops takes him to the state of Saxony-Anhalt, to the Wittenberg district, onto the Schlosswiese (Castle Meadow) of the Lutherstadt Wittenberg.

A Venue Steeped in History

The Schlosswiese in Wittenberg serves as an open-air stage in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage city — right on Schlossplatz (Castle Square), with views of the Castle and the Castle Church, where Martin Luther is said to have nailed his 95 Theses in 1517. In summer, the meadow transforms into a concert arena: Bidla Buh has performed here, as have Die Prinzen and Falco tributes — and in August 2026, it will be Matthias Reim's turn.

What to Expect

The anniversary program is a journey through his hit discography: „Verdammt, ich lieb dich”, „Sterne”, „Wo ich bin”, „Verlier dich in mir”, plus songs from his recent albums. Reim brings an experienced live band, the stage design is tailored for open-air performances, and the Wittenberg audience — comprising loyal fans and day-trippers from Berlin and Leipzig — regularly ensures full sing-along sessions.
